Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner has reportedly vetoed a bill that would have established a state-sponsored fund to provide workers compensation insurance in Illinois.

National data has shown that nearly 50% of adult burn patients do not return to work two years after injury and 28% never return to work, according to the Washington Department of Labor and Industries, which announced on Friday its partnership with Harborview Medical Center in the creation of a center of excellence for workers burned on the job.

The California Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau on Friday submitted its proposed Jan. 1, 2018, pure premium rate filing to the California Department of Insurance seeking advisory pure premium rates that average $2.01 per $100 of payroll.
